A conversation between Banks' locals about things that matter 

A Kitchen Table Conversation (KTC) is a proven, structured, simple and powerful way for people to speak about what matters to them in a safe and comfortable environment.

KTCs build community; we listen to one another, respect people's right to their opinions even if we disagree, and consensus is not necessary - we're not arguing or discussing but listening to one another respectfully.

We will ask 3 sets of questions to see: what does our Banks community value, what are the issues that concern us and why, and what are we looking for in our elected representatives.  We will also ask participants if they want us to go looking for a values-aligned Community Independent for the next election.   

Responses will be collated anonymously and integrated into the final report and shared with our political representatives as well as candidates.

It is a fun way to connect with people in the community and hear about what matters most to us.

Why join a Kitchen Table Conversation?

It’s important that our political representatives get to hear from voices in our community about what matters to us and what we expect from them as our representatives. That’s when democracy works best.

Why not host your own Kitchen Table Conversation?

Bring together a small group of between 4 and 8 friends, neighbours, family, workmates or people you know from community networks and host a KTC. Meet at home, a café or wherever is easiest so long as it’s quiet enough for everyone to be heard easily. We will provide you all the information to run the conversation - but if you are a bit nervous one of our facilitators can come to you.
